Greetings –
we have been sailing for 48 hours & my trivia team has lost 4 times
already!!! LOL! B says he is a bit behind in the casino, but
I am up playing blackjack. There is a
poker table however I have yet to see any players at it. The casino host, Julia, said they had a full
table for their first tournament, but I did not play as it was the same time as
trivia – we all have our priorities, right?
It is a bit
like old home week aboard the Statendam as we have sailed before with this
cruise director, Carlos, and about 5 of the casino staff. In fact one dealer, Ari, says to tell Jess
hi… Pretty remarkable that they remember
us, however B has become a bit of a legend as he always brings the casino crew
treats – they call him the Candy Man…lol!
We had our
first formal last night however when I was unpacking I discovered I had
forgotten the hanging bag will ALL of B’s tuxedo shirts and vests!! What an idiot!!! I had packed his tuxedo and my dresses, but
he has no shirts – I went to the front desk to see if maybe they might have his size, in a white shirt at least… We got lucky and they did, but I am
disappointed as we always look so spiffy in our matching colored
formalwear. Of course, the food tasted
just as good, even if we did not match!
Lol!
I have
managed to deliberately walk 1 mile daily and probably another mile or more
just getting from place to place. I have
been attempting to eat healthy, so will hopefully LOSE weight in the next 30
days…
We like the
ship as it is somewhat small – only about 1200 passengers. I have only seen 2 kids and both are over 11…
There appears to be only one activity guy, Brett, but he is really fun and
engaging. We have played ring toss
(which I absolutely suck at) crazy golf and ping pong so far. We were hoping to play blongo (ladder ball)
but Brett says it is not available. The
activities are being run as an Olympics and I am in the middle of the pack,
however B should be in the top 15 – I have some catching up to do…
Our dinner table
companions seem to be agreeable and we are an eclectic group. 1 Aussie couple, 1 German lady, 3 American
single ladies & a CA couple who are originally from France. But since we are 10 it is hard to converse
across the table so we have to play musical chairs some to get better
acquainted.
Our port of
call today is Cabo which is the tip of Baja California. We have been here before and it is a tender
port, meaning the ship does not dock at a pier and you have to ride a small
boat to get to shore. I am not fond of
this at all, but we will wait till the commotion settles and then go into town
to wander a bit for a few hours. Hope
this report finds you well. We have 2
sea days before we arrive in Huatulco, Mexico.
Until then, Via Con Dios…
Always fun to live vicariously through your cruises ... even more fun from your house!! Hey, where should I get my hair cut??
ReplyDeleteNo shirts???? And that should bother Big B????? lol

Lost four times at Trivia? It's going to be a long trip - lol. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteAmerican. Single? Ladies?
ReplyDeleteThree of them?
Hmmmmmmmmm... Either sounds like I'm missing a great trip, or missing good conversations with some nice people.
